Is There a Good Historical Argument for Christianity?
An attempt to rehabilitate some of Glen Scrivener's messy arguments
I have spent the last few articles somewhat bashing the appropriation by evangelists of the historical claim that Christianity is responsible for our values, a claim that ends up landing badly in a muddle of relativism and conservative culture war rallying cries. I want to now try and resuscitate some of these arguments, since the oft-made argument against Christianity, that it simply adds superstition to moral claims found abundantly elsewhere, is often equally as puerile.
